Walid El-Masri

Syria | 1979

Walid El Masri aims to transform the singularity of a commonplace object such as the chair, by employing animated marks and a disquieting colour palette. By juxtaposing the familiar into an object of anger and discomfort, he elicits a sentiment of apprehension in the viewer and invites them to contemplate their subjective bias.
