Mi-kyung Lee’s monochromatic works are formed with fluid, ethereal brush strokes that materialize as blurred visions of black and grey landscapes that never quite seem to come into view. Melancholic and sobering, her imagery is also meditative whereby although void of detail, they invite the viewer into an empty, quiet space.
Mi-kyung Lee studied at the EWHA University in Seoul, Korea between 1986-1990. Between 1992-2000 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munster, Germany. She currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
